The president of this congress was Mrs. Prof. F. Sharifiaghdas, the scientific secretary and local organizer was Dr. M. Mehrad.
This International Multidisciplinary Neuro-Urology Congress was again a great success.
225 participants attended the congress, which took place during three days. The different specialists attending the congress reflect the interdisciplinarity: 96 Urologists, 11 Gynecologists, 22 Neurologists, 12 Neurosurgeons, 16 colorectal surgeon, 3 general physician, 2 Internists, 3 pediatric nephrologists and 3 other specialists as well as 57 physiotherapists.
In all together 9 sessions the following topics were presented and discussed: Pathophysiology of Neurogenic LUT Dysfunction, Underactive Detrusor, Overactive Bladder, Spinal Cord Injury and Pediatric Neuro-Urology, the impact of diabetes mellitus on LUT, Neurogenic Bowel Dysfunction, Nocturia in neuro-urological patients, Physiotherapy for neurogenic LUT dysfunction and gender specific Neurogenic Sexual Dysfunction.
On the third day, live surgeries were demonstrated and in an abstract session young neuro-urologists presented their work.
The congress was perfectly organized and INUS thanks especially Dr. Mehri Mehrad for all the efforts and work she has done during this year for this meeting.
We are looking forward, that more Iranians especially young urologists would join INUS and those under 36 years of age will get free membership according to INUS regulations. We hope that a third International Multidisciplinary Neuro-Urology Congress will follow.
