This was the next session of our Inspirational Talk’s in collaboration with our Neuro-Urogynecology and Urogenital Pain SIG! We were thrilled to have Professor Mauro Cervigni as our October special guest. ESSIC is regarded as a premier league international society in the area of Interstitial Cystitis/ Bladder Pain Syndrome. So, who better than the co-founder and current President of ESSIC to entertain and educate us on this complex but fascinating subject.

Dr Keng Ng is a Consultant Urological Surgeon based in London, United Kingdom. He was awarded the Clifford Morson Medal at The Institute of Urology London for his thesis work on urodynamics and bladder dysfunction. His specialty interests include interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome and female urinary incontinence surgery. He is currently Chair of IUGA SIG in Neuro-urogynecology and Urogenital Pain.

Prof. Cervigni graduated from "La Sapienza" University in Rome-Italy. He completed his Ob/gyn residency at the "La Sapienza" Univ. and his Urology residency at Catholic Univ. in Rome. He did a fellowship on Female Urology in the UCLA with Shlomo Raz. He was Professor of Urogynecology at Tor Vergata Univ., Catholic Univ and "La Sapienza" Univ. He was Chairman of the 1st Dept. of Urogynecology in Italy. He was a co-founder of the Italian Association of Urogynecology (AIUG) of which he became President and currently Scientific Secretary. Co-founder of the International Pelvic floor Dysfunction Society (IFDS) of which he became President. Co-founder of the International Society Study Interstitial Cystitis (ESSIC) of which he is currently President. European representative of the IUGA, Trustee of Urogynecology at the ICS. Currently Chairman of the scientific committee of the Mediterranean Incontinence Pelvic floor Society (MIPS). Current referent within the ERN (European Reference Network) in the eUROGEN commission (for rare and complex urological diseases). He understood since the beginning of 2010 the importance of minimally invasive robotic surgery on pelvic reconstructive surgery of which he became a supporter and popularizer by organizing in 2014 the first international congress in Italy on robotic surgery involving the most authorative KOL's in the world. Co-author of books on Bladder Pain Syndrome and on Reconstructive surgery of the female pelvic floor.

Dr Kazibe Koyuncu is PhD candidate in Urogynecology Doctorate Programme in Ankara University, Turkey. She is interested in working interstitial cystitis and bladder pain syndrome and female sexual dysfunction. She is a member of SIG in Neuro-urogynecology and Urogenital Pain.
