Dr Ian Thong, a Pain Specialist physician and the Medical Director of the Interdisciplinary Pain Centre at Gold Coast University Hospital in Australia, will be discussing the management of chronic pelvic pain and what urogynecologists and gynecologists should involve in their assessment and management of patients. Bridget Weeks, a Senior Physiotherapist with advanced qualification in management of pelvic floor disorders, will discuss the role of physiotherapists in the management of chronic pelvic pain and some tips in tricks regarding assessment.

Moderator
Dr Yeung is a subspecialist urogynaecologist currently practicing in Brisbane and Gold Coast, Australia. She has a special interest in minimally invasive and vaginal pelvic floor surgery; has published multiple papers in international peer-reviewed journals and is a member of the Cochrane reviewer group for surgical management of prolapse.
Moderator
Emma is a Resident Doctor at John Hunter Hospital in NSW. Emma is passionate about women’s health, and plans to complete further research and specialty training in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She is also passionate about medical education, and gender equity within medicine.
Presenter
Bridget Weeks is a Senior Physiotherapist at the Gold Coast Hospital Health Service, bringing over 20 years of experience. She specializes in Women’s Health and Oncology, having worked extensively in both outpatient and inpatient settings for maternity and cancer care. In mid-2020, she joined the Queensland Pelvic Mesh Service as the Allied Health Team Leader, where she works with women experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction and persistent pain. Additionally, Bridget has a strong interest in knowledge translation.
