Prof Kristene Whitmore has graciously agreed to be interviewed by our dynamic Steering Group members - Tatiana and Kazibe.
As in previous sessions, this interview-style Inspirational Talk is completely free of charge. Please invite your colleagues and trainees, and other members of staff (nurses, physiotherapists) to register and attend. They do not even need to be a member of IUGA! Dr Keng Ng is a Consultant Urological Surgeon based in London, United Kingdom. He was awarded the Clifford Morson Medal at The Institute of Urology London for his thesis work on urodynamics and bladder dysfunction. His specialty interests include interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome and female urinary incontinence surgery.
He was elected Chair of SIG in Neuro-urogynecology and Urogenital Pain in January 2022.

Dr. Whitmore is currently employed by Virtua Medical Group as a Female Pelvic Medicine &
Reconstructive Surgeon. She is a Professor of Surgery/Urology and OB/GYN-Female Pelvic
Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine. She was program director for the Cooper
University and then the Drexel University Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery
Fellowship program from 2000-2019. Dr. Whitmore did her urology residency at U.C.L.A. In
practice for 37 years, she has trained over 108 student’s residents and fellows in female
Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. She wrote the Book "Overcoming Bladder
Disorders", and is a member of the Interstitial Cystitis Association Medical Advisory Board
since 2001. She has served on the board for the National Association for Continence. She
was president of American Urogynecologic Association Foundation. She was a Board
member of the American Urogynecologic Society and reviewer of N.I.H. grants. She received
the AUGS foundation Donor of the year award in 2022. She has treated more than 14,000
Interstitial Cystitis patients. Dr. Whitmore is and has been a patient advocate, author and
visiting Professor for women's urologic and pelvic floor disorders. Published in 1990, Dr.
Whitmore’s book "Overcoming Bladder Disorders" established her as a nationally known
author and physician. Described as "the best resource any patient with a bladder disorder
could find."

Dr Kazibe Koyuncu is PhD candidate in Urogynecology Doctorate Programme in Ankara University, Turkey. She is interested in working interstitial cystitis and bladder pain syndrome and female sexual dysfunction. She is a member of SIG in Neuro-urogynecology and Urogenital Pain.
