Our colorectal colleagues have traditionally used endoanal ultrasound to assess anal sphincter muscle integrity after vaginal delivery. Is this really the best technique or can we obtain similar information with an exoanal or perineal ultrasound approach? What are the differences in images and are there other advantages in one technique over another? Could this impact our clinical management? Should we reassess our practice?
This webinar is the second jointly organised by IUGA and AIUM (American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine). IUGA members Dr Osanna Wan from Hong Kong and Dr Fernandi Moegni from Indonesia will take us through these aspects in the management of our patients with obstetric anal sphincter trauma.
