Netherlands - Wamel. A very small town in The Netherlands, chosen as it is nice and peaceful. The location is ideal for commuting between hospitals.
Tell us about your work - your job title, where you work, how long you've worked in the field, areas of focus or research, etc.
After medical school I worked for a year in Obs&Gynae, after which I started a great PhD project on levator avulaion following delivery in Croydon University Hospital (UK). I obtained my PhD in collaboration with the Radboud University (The Netherlands). Following my PhD I started my O&G residency, with special interest in Urogynaecology.
When and why did you decide to join IUGA?
During my research period I wanted to know more about the other parts of Urogynaecology. And I wanted to get to know more research fellows to exchange ideas and have fun during the meetings.
What has been your most rewarding or memorable IUGA experience?
Presenting my own research and so much fun during the annual meetings!
What is the last book you read or movie you saw? Would you recommend it?
A Dutch novel during my holidays.
What are your hobbies? What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Playing hockey, tennis, skiing, enjoying time with my children, family and friends.
