It was an honor and privilege to host the prestigious program of IUGA Regional Symposium & URPS 2018, a live operative workshop, jointly organized by IUGA, URPSSI and Medway Women Center, held from 7th to 9th of September 2018 at Chennai.
The program has proven that it is possible to repair and reconstruct even complex - mixed defects of POP by simple fascial repair using patients own tissues without resorting to fancy devices and materials. All the delegates were inspired and motivated to adopt what they learned. The delegates understood that it is an achievable task irrespective of their place of practice or level of surgical training.
What is most gratifying is to realize that the benefits of their learning will cascade to millions of women patients through these 291 specialists who participated, which was the objective of the program. Most of the participants are specialists from teaching medical institutions. By learning as participants and sharing as teachers, these specialists will significantly contribute to the core competency of the budding specialists.
