As with previous sessions, this SIG session is completely free of charge. Please invite your colleagues and trainees, and other members of staff (nurses, physiotherapists) to register and attend. Hans Peter Dietz is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and RANZCOG-certified subspecialist in Urogynaecology. He was born in Germany and graduated from Heidelberg University in 1988, obtaining an MD there in 1989. Between 1999 and 2002, he undertook urogynaecology subspecialty training in Sydney and obtained a PhD with the University of New South Wales. Between 2008 and 2021 he was Professor in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Sydney Medical School, University of Sydney.
In the past he has acted as editor to the Continence Journal, Australian and NZ Journal of Obtsetrics and Gynaecology and Ultrasund in Obstetreics and Gynaecology. He co- foundced the Australasian Birth Trauma Association in 2017. His academic work focuses on childbirth- related maternal pelvic floor trauma as well as antenatal and intrapartum consent. He has authored about 400 peer-reviewed publications and 23 book chapters. His work has been cited nearly 25.000 times; his H factor is 85.
He has been a partner in Sydney Urodynamics for Women since 2002 and runs the Online Pelvic Floor Imaging Course of the International Urogynaecology Association. He is very active in teaching internationally and has led about 100 courses and seminars worldwide over the last 20 years.
