Essential Pelvic Floor Anatomy S. Abbas ShobeiriS. Abbas Shobeiri, MD, MBA is the Vice-Chair of Gynecologic Subspecialties and Professor of OB/GYN, Medical Education, and Bioengineering at INOVA. Dr. Shobeiri obtained his Bachelor's degree from the University of Washington, Medical Degree from TUFTS University, and completed his residency and fellowship at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. Because of his background and experiences, Dr. Shobeiri was entrusted with establishing a state-of-the-art urogynecology section at the University of Oklahoma in 2002. Dr. Shobeiri is the director of the NAFC designated national center of excellence; continence care at INOVA, ICS, and IUGA research scholar program, a multidisciplinary INOVA-George Mason University Pelvic Floor Investigation Group, "Ultrasound of Pelvic Floor Investigation and Therapeutics" (UPFIT). Dr. Shobeiri has been the recipient of many research and educational awards, including AUGS Best Educational Research award, APGO Excellence in Teaching award, and BJOG best reviewer award. He has received funding from AUGS, ACOG, NICHD, and the industry. Dr. Shobeiri's research interests include new robotic technologies, medical device development, and pelvic floor and ultrasound imaging. He has been a grant reviewer for ACOG, AUGS, and American Federation for Aging Research. He is a manuscript reviewer for multiple journals. He has authored >200 articles in scientific journals and many chapters for textbooks standard to Gynecology, Urogynecology, and medical device development. He is the editor of "Practical Pelvic Floor Ultrasonography" book, now in 2nd edition, and "The Innovation and Evolution of Medical Devices." He has chaired annual workshops at the AUGS, ICS, IUGA, AIUM, and meetings worldwide. |

Overactive Bladder Shilpa Iyer (USA)Dr. Iyer is a an assistant professor of urogynecology at The University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and her fellowship in FPMRS at the University of Chicago. She is a member of IUGA and AUGS, and serves on committees in both organizations. Her research interests include clinical outcomes for overactive bladder and improving access to care. |

Stress Urinary Incontinence Paul Moran (United Kingdom)I qualified in Nottingham, UK, in 1990. My subsequent training was in Oxford and an excellent Urogynaecology Research Fellowship under Prof P Dwyer in 1997/98. During my fellowship, I coordinated several RCT’s including an RCT of laparoscopic versus open colposuspension. I was appointed to lead and develop Urogynaecology Services in Worcestershire in 2000. This was one of the first UK units to be nationally accredited by BSUG in 2009. I was part of the founding committee of BSUG in 2002 and was subsequently responsible for designing and developing both the BSUG and IUGA databases. I was chair of the BSUG Audit Committee from 2005 to 2011. I have been involved with sub-urethral mesh tapes from their inception and published the first trial documenting objective urodynamic results in 2000. I have been involved in further RCT’s of TVT versus TVT-O and Laparoscopic versus Open Sacrocolpopexy. In 2017, I established a bladder neck injection service under local anaesthesia. I have a passion for teaching anatomy. I co-organised the Oxford Urogynaecology Cadaveric Course from 2008 to 2015. In 2019 I was part of the faculty which ran the first “Cadaveric Mesh Complications Course’, in Cork, Ireland. I have been fortunate to lecture and run workshops on anatomy nationally and internationally. |

His present position is the director of the Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery unit. Navamol Lekskul (Thailand)
Doctor Navamol Lekskul received the Diplomate Thai Board of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2007. Her further educations include the Certificate of Accreditation in Level2 and Level3 Minimally Invasive Surgery from KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Singapore in 2011. She continued to work in the Minimally Invasive Surgery Unit of KK Hospital where she was also a member of the KKH Robotic team until 2013. After her return to Thailand, she accomplished the Diplomate Thai Sub board of Gynecologic Oncology in 2015 and is currently an assistant professor at the Gynecologic Oncology Unit, Department of Obstetricss and Gynaecology, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University.
